Tha Chang Market | ตลาดท่าช้าง [CLOSED]

CLOSED in 2015

(map) Next to the Grand Palace, sprawling along Maharat Road next to the Tha Chang ferry pier one finds the Tha Chang day market. Most of the stalls are a simple piece of cloth or a small table set up on the pavement, selling both new and second hand goods. There are a few shops selling second-hand books, some in English, new sunglasses, souvenirs, toys, bags, t-shirts and lots of other small goods.

The area is currently under renovation (Aug 2014), but you can still find plenty of shops with religious Buddhist objects and traditional medicine with animal teeth, tiger hairs and all kinds of undetermined products, and fortune tellers are waiting to tell you your fortune based on the cards or the stars.
