Patpong Market | ตลาดพัฒน์พงษ์ **

(map) The centre of Patpong is the tourist market selling both real and fake designer brand watches, sunglasses, wallets and clothes, legal and illegal DVD's and lots of souvenirs. As a rule of thumb, the shops generally hold the real items and the market stalls have the fakes, sometimes very good ones. After having dealt with foreigners for a long time the vendors are not so friendly anymore and tough bargaining is necessary.

The market sprawls over from Patpong into both sides of Silom Road on one side, and on Surawong Road at the other end. Patpong itself is also Bangkok's Famous Red Light District, so don't bring the kids if you don't want them to catch a glimpse of bikini or topless ladies doing a pole dance. [Silom Soi 5; night market; open daily]
